Mr. Sorrell is an accomplished journalist and author with extensive experience covering Central Appalachia. With a degree in journalism, his work has earned numerous accolades, including awards from the Tennessee Press Association, Tennessee Associated Press, and Virginia Press Association, as well as the Scripps Howard Award for Community Journalism. In addition to his newspaper career, Sorrell has authored multiple books on regional history and contributed to various national and regional publications.

Mrs. Sorrell has a long-standing background in digital design and marketing, specifically focused on promoting content representing Central Appalachia. She has received several awards during her career centered around print and web design and spent her early adulthood working in public relations for a regional tourism authority. Her eye for design and quality helped bolster her previous projects above their competitors. She has also spent time writing news briefs and columns for various agencies in the region.
